This is an advisory and support service designed to assist youth workers in the early stages of settling into a new post or undertaking a new dimension to their work.

The service is appropriate when workers, though suited to the task for which they are selected, require initial support due to a lack of specific experience, skills or knowledge.

A resource person with the necessary experience is assigned to the worker to assist them in taking up their new responsibilities. The service may be integrated into the individual's induction programme.

Limited to a maximum of six sessions, the service is then reviewed by the worker in conjunction with the management committee, CDYSB and the resource person.

Following the review, the service may be continued subject to further review. The service is not confidential.
