Volunteer Achievement Awards Announcement
08-09-2010

CDYSB is inviting voluntary youth groups/clubs or youth projects/services to nominate volunteers for a CDYSB Outstanding Volunteer Achievement Award 2010.

CDYSB feel it is very important to publicly recognise the commitment and dedication of volunteers in youth work. This year we are very pleased to accept nominations for our volunteer awards, which are a celebration of the individuals who are involved in voluntary youth work in the City of Dublin.

The award ceremony will take place at a celebratory dinner in

The Radisson SAS Hotel
Golden Lane
Dublin 8

on

Friday, 19th November 2010 at 7:30pm

The 'Rat Pack Tribute Group' (singing ths songs of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin) will entertain following the dinner and presentation of awards. Up to five invited youth work colleagues and family members can accompany those receiving an award.

This year nominations will be accepted in three categories:

  1. Young Leader (aged 16 to 20 years)
  2. Leader (aged 21 years and over)
  3. Support Volunteer (aged 21 years and over)

Nominations will be reviewed by an independent assessment panel that will short list volunteers to receive awards.
The shortlisting by the panel is based on the information supplied on the nomination form so please use the space provided to make the best case for your nominee.

A maximum of five awards will be presented in each category. There will also be an overall 'Volunteer of the Year' award in all three categories which will be announced at the celebration dinner. The criteria for nominations are detailed on the nomination form and I would encourage you to review these in detail before making a nomination.

Please post or email (see nomination form) a clear photograph of the nominee (identify nominee by name and group on back of photograph). The photograph will be used for a visual presentation at the award ceremony.

Please remember when making your nomination/s: -

  • You may only nominate a volunteer in any one of the three categories.
  • You can nominate a maximum of two volunteers, but each must be in a separate category.
  • Previous award recipients may not be nominated at this time.
  • Refer in detail to the 'Important Points to Note' on page four of the nomination form.

Nomination forms can be downloaded from the Publications section of our website by clicking here.

Completed nomination forms must be returned to CDYSB by 5pm on Monday, 18th October 2010.
