Development Support Programme

The Development Support Programme (DSP) for Youth Workers is a support service offered to youth workers who are experiencing personal difficulties relating to or arising from their work.

This service is also available to members of management committees.

DSP is distinctive in that content of the discussions is confidential and cannot be disclosed without the consent of both parties.

It is not intended to replace line management supervision and does not address any task management issues that properly belong in that context.

The programme runs for a maximum of 10 sessions after which it is reviewed.

It may be extended at this point, or the youth worker may be referred to a counsellor.
